Miss Celestina Nakie Nanor, a student nurse at Koforidua, is the Winner of the 2016 Miss Yilo Beauty Pageant.
Nakie, a member of the Kloma Hengme association, beat 5 other contestants to behold the crown and the goodies.
The 2016 Miss Yilo Winner whose excellent performance and narration of the Dipo custom during the talent session drew a loud cheers and applauses from the crowd, received a 32 inches Flat TV and a cash amount of Ghc 2,000 as her prize.
For her project, Narkie promised to work on controlling the high incidence of drug abuse in the Yilo-Krobo Traditional area.
Patrons who attended the program were entertained with great showcase and portrait of the Krobo custom and tradition by the beauty pageants. They were also thrilled to great musical performances from reknowned Krobo and other guest musical artistes.
One of the many Kloma Hengme Members who thronged the Havannah Complex to declare their support to their member, Mr Quaye William Beddarh, said Narkie’s ”Win is an icing on the cake for Kloma Hengme after a successful and well-attended Free Breast Cancer Screening all day at the Agormanya market today [Saturday]. Her excellent delivery in the Krobo tradition and custom which made her to win the hearts of the judges and fans was not a surprise to some of us at all, thats what Kloma Hengme has been promoting all along”.
This year’s Kloyosikplem is being celebrated on the theme ”Development in Unity”.
